If you have purchased a family parking ticket or family premium parking ticket, follow signs for Family Parking (indicated with a purple square) via the A515 (from Newhaven and Ashbourne) or the A5012 (from Newhaven and Cromford). Follow directions of traffic marshals as you approach the car park. Remember to have your parking hangar clearly on display. Note there is NO drop and collect facility within the family parking.   

If you have purchased a live–in vehicle ticket, follow signs for Campervans via the A5012 (from Newhaven and Cromford) or the A515 (from Newhaven and Ashbourne). Follow directions of traffic marshals as you approach the car park. Remember to have your parking hangar clearly on display.  

If you have an access parking or access live-in vehicle ticket, or wish to drop off or collect, follow directions from all major routes to Pikehall, DE4 2PG.  Follow festival road signage for Public Parking, Premium Parking and Drop & Collect, along the A5012 (from Newhaven and Cromford). Traffic marshals will direct you into the correct area based on your ticket type. Remember to have your parking hangar clearly on display.  

If you plan to use our Drop Off & Collect area, follow directions from all major routes to Pikehall, DE4 2PG.  Follow festival road signage for Drop & Collect, along the A5012 (from Newhaven and Cromford). Traffic marshals will direct you the Drop & Collect area.  

DO NOT USE THE SIDE OF ROADS OR ANY LANES TO DROP OFF OR COLLECT PEOPLE, IT IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND PUTS PEOPLE IN DANGER. 

All Big Green Coach ticket purchasers will arrive at the official on site coach drop-off and pick-up point. Once you have been dropped off follow the pedestrian walking route to the Main Gates. Return travel on Monday 3rdAugust will be from the same location, if you have forgotten the way please follow the signs or ask a member of staff to point you in the right direction.

Buxton: Approximately 25 mins away by taxi 

Matlock: Approximately 20 mins away by taxi 

There are no public bus or shuttle bus services that run to the Y Not site, so if you are arriving by train please make sure you book taxi travel for both legs of your journey or make alternative travel plans. A selection of suggested local taxi companies can be found in the taxi section below. 

If arriving by taxi, please direct your driver to the Pick-up and Drop-off location. If you need to pre-book a taxi, we recommend that you do this as soon as possible.

Tickets – Please print or download your ticket to your phone so it is available offline. 

Car Park Passes – If you have purchased a car park pass, please remember to hang this from your rear-view mirror to ensure a quick and easy entry to the car parks. If you have received a PDF version of your parking pass, please print and display on your dashboard before your arrival to the car park. 

Bank Cards – Y Not is a completely cashless festival and only accepts card or contactless payments. 

ID – If you are under the age of 16 you will not be allowed entry into the festival without a responsible adult aged 21+. A maximum of 4 people aged under 16 can be accompanied per responsible adult.

Reuseable Bottle – Please remember to keep hydrated across the weekend. There are water refill points inside the festival and in the campsites. Please bring a reusable bottle with you. 

Live-in Vehicle Water Butts – If you are a Live–in vehicle customer and planning to bring a water butt then please arrive onsite with your water butt already full. 

Suitable Clothing – Please check the forecast and dress suitably for the weather. The weather at Y Not can be changeable, moving from hot sunny days to cool evenings, so pack for all weathers. And don’t forget your waterproof in case it rains!    

Sun Cream – In case it’s a scorcher! 

Fancy Dress Costume – Dress to impress for this year’s fancy dress theme…Iconic Film & TV Characters!   

Medication – Don’t forget any personal medication you might need. Sealed prescription medication will be allowed in at the gates, if accompanied by a prescription or doctors note. 

Loo Roll – Just in case!

Alcohol brought to the festival must comply with event regulations, anyone aged 18 and over can bring in limited amounts and types of alcohol. You may be asked for proof of age.  

Alcohol will only be permitted on first entry to the main gates.

You will not be allowed to re-enter the site with alcohol once you’ve got your wristband. If you plan to make multiple trips to your vehicle upon arrival, you must bring your alcohol through the gates on your first trip. Strictly no glass is permitted.  

Quantity Per Person 

Each person can bring the following into the campsites: 

Up to 24 cans of beer/ lager/ cider or alcopops (a mixture is fine) 

Or 

1 bottle of spirit (70cl max – must be decanted. NO GLASS) 

Or 

2 bottles of wine (75cl max – must be decanted. NO GLASS) 

Y Not Festival reserves the right to confiscate any alcohol we deem not to be appropriate for the customer in question. 

Personal alcohol cannot be brought into the arena from the campsites.  

Alcohol in the arena can be purchased from one of our many well stocked bars and is subject to our ‘Challenge 25’ policy. 

Remember to pace yourself and to always drink responsibly. 

If you find yourself feeling unwell, needing some additional support or needing medical attention, please head to our medical and welfare facilities that operate a 24 hour, judgement free service. Our medical and welfare facilities are located in the Village Green by the main arena gates. If you find yourself in need of medical attention but are unable to make your way to the medical tent, please just speak to a member of our security team.  

Whilst on site at Y Not, please keep an eye out for your friends and those around you. If you see someone in trouble, or see something that looks out of the ordinary, please report it to a member of our security team. Please don’t be a bystander.   

Whilst we want everyone at Y Not to have a good time, it’s important to know your limits. Pace yourself, remember to eat, drink plenty of water and don’t try something if you don’t know how it will affect you. If at any point you or a friend feel unwell, head to our medical and welfare facilities or speak to a member of security.   

Unfortunately there are a few unpleasant people out there who target music festivals, so we wanted to give you a few tips on how best to keep you and your valuables safe. 

• Keep your phone, wallet and any other valuables on you at all times 

• Don’t leave valuables in your tent unattended 

• Don’t keep any valuables in your back pockets, use front/inside pockets or a secure bag  

• Arrange a meeting point with your friends in case you get separated or lose your phone 

• Keep valuables in your sleeping bag overnight  

• Have the ‘Find My Phone’ or ‘Find My iPhone’ app installed on your phone    

• Introduce yourself to your campsite neighbours 

• Get to know your Campsite Management team in your nearest Campsite Hub and report anything that doesn’t look right   

Our on-site Info Point can be found in The Village Green and operates at the following times:

Friday 31st July – 09:00 – 21:00 

Saturday 1st August – 09:00 – 21:00 

Sunday 2nd August – 09:00 – 21:00 

Monday 3rd August – 08:00 – 12:00 

If you have any questions or concerns about your time at Y Not, please head here and speak to a member of the team.

If you lose something during the Festival, please head to the Welfare Tent in The Village Green which operates 24 hours a day. All lost property handed in over the weekend will make its way back here. You can also report your lost item by speaking to the welfare team or filling in THIS lost property form, if your item is handed in, our team will keep your items safe ready for you to collect.  

Please note that found items will be kept for up to one month after the Festival. After this period, unclaimed items that are suitable will be donated to local charities.  

We encourage all guests to remain alert and take care of their personal belongings throughout the Festival. 

Our friendly security and steward teams will be working across the festival site 24 hours a day. If you have any questions or concerns during your time at Y Not, please don’t hesitate to speak to them.  

As with anywhere else in the UK, the possession or supply of drugs is illegal at Y Not. Our main priorities are:  

• Prevent illegal drugs getting on site  

• Pursue anyone suspected of supplying drugs  

• Protect our festival goers  

Don’t forget any personal medication you might need. Sealed prescription medication will be allowed in at the gates, if accompanied by a prescription or doctors note. Don’t stop taking your medication or change your dosage because you are coming to the festival, without consulting your doctor first. If you require your medication to be stored in a fridge, please get in touch with us in advance via info@ynotfestival.com to arrange storage within our medical centre.  

We have a number of local health services, organisations and charities present at Y Not to help maintain Y Not as a safe space for everyone. All services are located within the Village Green.
