COMMON GOLDFISH

Carving psych grooves through the grey sprawl of London, common goldfish is the underground project of Tottenham’s Jonty Lovell, producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with a taste for breakbeats, warped synths, and that golden-era fuzz. Blending the swagger of Britpop, the groove of funk, and the pulse of ‘90s electronica, common goldfish sounds like a half-remembered night out; hazy, nostalgic and full of feeling.

What started as spontaneous sets in local skateparks and canals has since grown into a full-blown 4-piece live outfit, bringing a wild energy to venues like Old Blue Last, Camden Assembly and Peckham Audio, and owning the stage at Wilderness, The Great Escape and BBC Introducing showcases.

Dubbed as “future headliners of tomorrow” by BBC Introducing, common goldfish sit comfortably outside the algorithm – swimming sideways, unbothered and fully in their own world.
