Scissor Sisters

Scissor Sisters are a very well known New York glam-pop group blending rock, disco, and dance with the theatrical flair of burlesque and drag culture. They broke through in 2003/04 with their neon-bright cover of “Comfortably Numb,” which became a club sensation and earned them a deal with Polydor. Fronted by Jake Shears and Ana Matronic, the band quickly became known for flamboyant live shows and a sound inspired by ’70s/’80s pop and queer nightlife.
Their self-titled debut album (2004) turned them into major stars in the U.K. and Europe, leading to festival performances and a Grammy nomination. Follow-up hits included “I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’” from Ta-Dah (2006), which topped the U.K. charts. After lineup changes and collaborations with high-profile producers, they released Night Work (2010) and Magic Hour (2012), continuing to evolve their bold, dancefloor-ready style.
