COMEDY
Each day Flamingo Jacks will see a FULL comedy line up, right up until the early evening. This year we are so excited to see some of the most exciting and talented stand ups and performers in the business.
Firstly, we are so happy to invite THE HORNE SECTION to Y Not. Fronted by Alex Horne, The Horne Section is a 5 piece jazz band that combines comedy, improvisation, storytelling and music. It’s something not to be missed.
ABANDONMAN, the Irish freestyle rapper comedian will also be hitting up Flamingo Jacks. Ready to take you on a magical journey, transforming your likes, loathes and daydreams into hit songs and captivating tales. Using audience interaction, his improv comedy is quick, witty and so much fun to be a part of.
Next up ,GARY DELANEY is bringing his brand new show Gagster’s Paradise to Y Not. The Mock The Week regular knows how to deliver the perfect gag that you can’t help but get carried away with. Gary’s the only comic ever to have got two gags in the same top 10 for Dave’s TV Funniest Jokes from the Edinburgh Fringe.
Then we have DANE BAPTISTE who has graced the likes Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Hailed as one of the most exciting break out comedy acts in recent years, his Live from the BBC special can be found on Netflix so make sure you get involved.
Not only that but we will also be joined by hilarious comedian and presenter Matt Richardson all day Saturday and Sunday, alongside other amazing comedians Rosie Jones, Jayde Adams, Rich Wilson, Ray Badran and Emmanuel Sonubi and Charlie Baker.
Comedy is something we’ve always known is deep in the hearts of the Y Not audience and we’re so excited to bring such a eclectic and hilarious line up all day every day at the festival.
LIVE
Flamingo Jacks will be feeding all of your late night needs with huge performances in the evening. We’re SO excited to be joined by the So Solid Crew. The british Garage group are probably most famous for their HUGE banger ‘21 Seconds’.
Massive talents such Youngr will be there right before. If you haven’t already checked him out, make sure you do it! His talent is undeniable, using loops and multiple instruments to create nd cover huge Electro-pop anthems.
IBIBIO SOUND MACHINES is an electronic afro-funk band from London. Their sound is inspired by the golden era of West-African funk & disco and modern post-punk and electro. They’re one of the most fun bands to see live and you HAVE to check them out!
IN HERE BROTHERS are two local lads (Derby based) who perform 90s dance acts acoustically. Basically, it’s amazing and you have to see it.
There’s even more performances with Federation of the Disco Pimp, The In Here Brothers. Not to mention late night DJ sets from Fun Lovin’ Criminals HUEY MORGAN and Happy Mondays BEZ to keep you moving.
OTHER ENTERTAINMENT
On top of ALL of this, we have some awesome alternative entertainment at Y Not this year. From old favourite’s Jon Leather’s Tarantino Disco to Rhythm of the 90’s a band that covers purely 90’s dance hits.
Plus MASS karaoke… Massaoke. The sing-a-long club sensation that’d been sweeping the UK.
Of course, we can’t forget the classic Dorito band The Mariachis, as well as very funny Tina T’urner Tea Lady, Mr B The Gentleman Rhythmer and Blue Rinse DJs.
