The Nighthawk Cinema is the place to go, when you just need to unwind and relax for a moment. Playing absolute classic films all day, sometimes you just need a sit down in a dark place with bit of Jurassic Park going on in the background.
Open from Friday – Sunday, there’s a selection of happy kids films in the AM to something a bit darker and thrilling later at night. We’ll release full information on our film schedule in the coming weeks!
No festival would be complete without a fun fair. On site you’ll find all the favourites from Chairoplanes to the big wheel. Top tip, on a sunny day head up there for sunset. You’ll get some of the best pics going for the gram!
This year we’re very excited to be adding Plonk mini-golf on site. You’ll be able to flex your skills all weekend in our fully themed miniature golf course.
This year, in our brand new venue Flamingo Jacks there’ll be a bigger and better comedy line up than ever before. With stars from shows such as Mock the Week, 8 out of 10 cats and more perform. With performances from Abandonman, The Horne Section and more the sets aren’t only just funny but interactive (don’t worry you won’t need to get on stage).
Y Not’s legendary paint fight will be back again this year. On the Sunday afternoon, you can have the chance to get back at your mate who’s been snoring all weekend by throwing some bright pink paint on his white t-shirt. You’ll need to meet in front of the main stage at 13:30 pm on the Sunday to get involved!
1600 hours, on Friday the 27th make sure you’re in Gold City ready for a carnival party extravaganza. With music, dancing (and lots of glitter) it’s the perfect way to kick off your weekend and have an amazing time with your mates.
Fancy yourself the next Missy Elliot? Flamingo Jacks will be hosting Hip-hop Karaoke, alongside Massaoke (which is basically just lots of people singing at once and trust me it’s amazing). We know that you’re all there for the sing-a-long so give yourself a chance to shine and show the world you can rap like a pro.
Last, but surely not least. New for last year we introduced our new venue the ‘Derby Arms’, Y Not’s very own Student Union. It was hugely popular so this year it’ll be back and bigger than ever. Head down there for some Pub Quiz fun, a decent pint and loads more.
